People Really Like the Metrodome

pretty_pretty_dome.jpgSports Illustrated readers recently ranked which baseball parks/stadiums offer the best value and give fans the best experience. Surprisingly, the Metrodome ranked #10, with a 45 rating out of a possible 70. The L.A. Angels of Anaheim’s Angel Stadium took the #1 ranking with a 54/70, so we weren’t too far behind.

Some of the rankings were a little skewed, like the average cost of concessions and souvenirs being $80. That’s a lot of Dome Dogs and malt cups! Readers ranked the neighborhood a six out of ten, which goes along with my complaint of not having a lot of quick walking options for a bite to eat after the game.

The article also lists the players worth the price of admission, the atmosphere, different park amenities (little to none for the ‘Dome), and the accessibility around the stadium.

    Which begs the question….

Do I have to even say it?

I’m a fan of the dome! So, yeah. Don’t say it. :)

On a prior thread, Wendy almost offered to pay me $30/year for 20 years for the new stadium. Unfortunately, that thread is no longer being responded to. Wendy?

    Dan, it was an example.

Okay. Too bad, because I’m actually going to be paying the $30/year, and I’m dissappointed about that. It wasn’t put to a vote, likely because the people who actually have to pay it would not have supported it. Instead commissioners decided to ignore the people.
