Museum Adventure Passes
You can now go to most metro library locations and check out a Museum Adventure Pass, good for free admission at participating metro cultural institutions. Basically you check out a pass, you get a due date slip, and that slip is your admission pass, which is good for up to four visitors. The admission pass expires after one week. At organizations that are already free to visit, your pass will get you an alternative such as a free audio tour.
If you don’t already have a library card (which I don’t), this alone is reason enough to get one. Here’s the list of participating organizations.
American Swedish Institute
The Bakken Museum
Bell Museum of Natural History
Como Park Zoo and Conservatory
Gibbs Museum of Pioneer and Dakotah Life
Historic Murphy’s Landing (Three Rivers Park District)
Mill City Museum
Minneapolis Institute of Arts
Minnesota History Center
