Minneapolis Bridge Burns

Jason at Five O’Clock Bot laments the demise of one of his favorite drinking spots, and those of us out and about on Saturday night now know what was on fire by the river! The Canadian Pacific Railway bridge is situated between the Franklin Avenue Bridge and the Ford Bridge, and it caught fire Saturday night around midnight. Fireworks are the apparent cause of the blaze, according to WCCO.

Somebody was asking about that on LJ, but nobody could turn up any information for a few days. They thought maybe it was the Lake Street bridge on fire but obviously that wasn’t the case.

I had no idea that was a “drinking bridge.” I suddenly feel so uncool.
