Greetings and salutations

Hello, everyone. Please forgive me in my delay to join the other newbies on the site. I’ve been a bit under the weather this week, so I’m just now getting around to logging in and all that fun stuff. I’ve been reading Minneapolis Metblogs for awhile now and always wanted to join, but I never thought I had that much to say. Recently, however, I became a St. Paul person after living on the other side of the river for eight years, and now I’m looking forward to sharing my new-found love of the much-maligned capital city. Seriously, right now, I publicly take back everything bad I’ve ever said about St. Paul. Sure, maybe Ventura was right by saying the streets were laid out by drunken Irishmen, but once you get over that, there’s a lot to love on this side of the river, and I hope to bring you the highlights!

    Hey Amanda,

Welcome to the team. Looks like there’s a few of us newbies now :)

Glad to hear about St. Paul, I love biking through the city.

I started dating someone who lived in St. Paul and finally had a reason to go over there. I’ll agree, it doesn’t suck. :P

It doesn’t suck as much as people make it out to be that isfor sure. I still love me some Minneapolis more than old St. Paul, though…

St. Paul is where I first lived when I moved to MN. Granted, it was in the worst part of St. Paul ever, but it didn’t scare me off too far!

St. Paul is where I’m from, though opposite of you, I moved west instead. It’s a fantastic town and I miss living there. Luckily, I have tons of family still calling St. Paul home so I tend to visit frequently. Hope you enjoy it!

Be sure to check out Cecil’s Deli (on Cleveland) and Carmelo’s (on Snelling) for some incredible food.

Hee, I got some Minneapolis people to admit that St. Paul “doesn’t suck.” That’s at least something.

Thanks for the restaurant recommendations, Heather. I’m slowly eating my way through my new hometown. I finally got over to Cossetta’s this past weekend, which was excellent!

I went to Macalester, so I lived on the west side of St Paul for 5 years… I really like it and still go back to visit often.

    and welcome!!
