Floodwood’s Catfish Festival

Did you know, about 3.5 hours outside of Minneapolis is the Catfish Capitol, Floodwood? I remember hitting the small town festivals a few years ago. Some of them are quite fun. This one was boring. The town is only a few blocks. The catfish… left something to be desired. We tried Bridgeman’s… we should have just gotten the Ice cream.

Catfish capitol, huh? Well I’ll stay a city-boy and while in MN, I’ll stick to the local places in Minneapolis.

And, no, our intent wasn’t to hit this festival, it was a pit-stop on our way to a cabin in Grand Rapids.

I also have been to this festival, and really like it. The events are on a schedule, and you have to be there when they are occuring. We go every year, on Saturday they have a pancake breakfast, fleamarket and animal swap. That is the worst day, we still enjoy it. Then on Sunday is the parade at noon, its alot of fun. Wouldnt miss it. Then on main street they have all sorts of fun thins to do. They have a hotdog eating contest, consession stands, kids games and events for the kidds to enter. Like I said there are fun times and some not so fun so get a schedule and its a blast. There are alot of things that I left out that adds to the fun..
