Ridiculous Advertising on StarTribune.com

Star Tribune homepage with obnoxious Denny Hecker advertising [1] WTF, Denny Hecker? Not only was this obnoxious background on display, a video — with audio — automatically started to play as well. I rarely visit the Strib’s homepage. I go through individual articles, and I was subscribing to some of the RSS feeds for a while before I decided I couldn’t handle the volume. Stuff like this makes me most definitely not want to visit startribune.com at all. That’s seriously annoying.

UPDATE: It’s all about the Vikings now. Slightly less obnoxious. Maybe because of the better contrast between the news part and the purple background. And there’s no auto-starting video and audio.
