I cannot BELIEVE I didn’t go to this game.

I’m trying to pace myself in Lynx game attendance. I can’t make myself commit to a ticket package. But I can’t afford to be coughing up for every game, either. I figured, what with Lisa Leslie posting big numbers so far this season, last night’s game against the L.A. Sparks would be one we’d probably lose. And I don’t like Lisa Leslie anyway. As great a player as she is and as much as she’s done for the sport, I just can’t stand her.
BUT.
Apparently I missed one of the biggest games in Minnesota Lynx history.
Hotshot rookie Seimone Augustus registered her first WNBA win in record-setting fashion.
Augustus scored a season-high 26 points in just three quarters as the Minnesota Lynx established the WNBA record for points in a game and set a handful of club records in a 114-71 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks….
Coming off three straight double-doubles, Sparks center Lisa Leslie was limited to eight points and four rebounds. She came in leading the WNBA in both categories.
I sure hope attendance was good. And even if it wasn’t, I bet attendance at the next game (Friday, 7:00, vs the Indiana Fever) is improved. Can’t wait to see what the blogs have to say.

I ought to go to another Lynx game sometime. I went to once, when they played against my cousin Stacy’s team. Unfortunately, Stacy rode the bench the entire time, and has since been let go from the WNBA. She might go play for a team in France by the end of the year, though.
She’s gonna make a heckuva lot more money in France than she would here.
