Two Gay Guys to Try to Enlist in Roseville Today

I heard a blurb on MPR this morning that two members of Soulforce were going to attempt to enlist at the Roseville National Guard recruitment center today. They had a handful of folks prepared to protest.

My question is, unlikely though it may be, are they ready to actually enlist?

I’m guessing these guys aren’t ready to enlist and serve given that they know it’s not going to happen and this is more of a stunt ( a well intentioned stunt to be sure, but still a stunt.

According to the NPR and Air America bits I heard about this today, the two are already up on trespassing charges for a sit in either earlier this year or late last year. If that’s the case, the NG has them cold. They can be rejected just for that and they avoid the whole sexuality issue.

Well that’s too bad. I agree: a well-intentioned stunt, but a stunt nonetheless.
