Local St. Paul
In my wanderings around the neighborhoods surrounding my apartment, specifically Highland Park, I’ve come across a couple of great local businesses that I thought I’d share with y’all.
P.J. Murphy’s bakery, (their website is a little lacking), at Syndicate and Randolph, is your typical little neighborhood bakery. It’s always busy when I walk by in the mornings, though.
The Bean Factory, (sorry, no website available) at Saratoga and Randolph, is a bustling coffeeshop that also offers free wi-fi, a great alternative to the Starbucks and Caribous of the world.
I’ve also noticed that there are a lot of houses for sale in this neighborhood, and a lot of them are way overpriced. I mean, $300,00 and $400,000 for a 1,500-square-foot, 3-bedroom house? Maybe the housing bubble is about to burst over there?

Is this the same as J&S Bean Factory at Hamline and Thomas? Could there possibly be two - neither one with Web sites? I know Cryns #3 is at the J&S one on May 19, so local music at a cool local place is good.
Looks like it, yeah.
