Upcoming Policy and a Pint

policy-pint-large.gif There’s another Policy and a Pint coming up on Thursday. The topic this time around: The Future of Minnesota’s Environment: How Individual Choices and Public Policies Are Changing the Places We Live, Work and Play.

This part looks particularly interesting to me:

Larry Baker and Kristin Nelson from the University of Minnesota have developed a computer simulation that can estimate how our everyday choices affect Minnesota’s environment. Does composting “cancel out” your long commute? Is your dog hard on the environment? And is driving to Madison more or less harmful than flying to Chicago?

The details:

Thursday, April 20
Doors at 5:00, program at 6:00.
Varsity Theater, Dinkytown, Minneapolis
$10; $5 for students

Register online at www.citizensleague.net. The price of your ticket includes snacks from Loring Pasta Bar and access to a fully stocked bar. And, of course, the policy discussion.
