First sign that Spring is here

Sure, it snowed a little today, but I noticed yesterday that the local A&W is open, and that can mean only one thing – Spring has sprung.

Bring on the root beer floats delivered to your open car window! Bring on the teenage waiter bearing an A&W tray with window clamps and that wacky change belt! Spring is here, and you know where to find me (even if I have to leave the car running and heater on).

There are five in the Twin Cities – Little Canada, Columbia Heights, Brooklyn Center and two in the MSP. Mmmm…

They actually have A&Ws like this still? The only ones I see any more are all modern and really just a McDonald’s with decent root beer.

I know! The stupid Long John Silvers combination-restaurants suck! The one on Rice St in Little Canada is the old style for sure!

Also, I was reminded by my wife there is an A&W in the MOA – although you definitely can’t be served at your car there.
