In training
So I have begun my training for the Breast Cancer 3-Day by walking 3 miles four times a week. I need to start slow, ya know? But due to it being winter outside (finally), I need to walk inside somewhere, and this week I chose Mall of America because it’s fairly convenient and it opens early for walkers so you don’t have to dodge so many people. I’m already tired of walking there, though, because it’s basically a big circle, and you can only walk by the crepe stand so many times before you break down and buy one.
Anyway, today I overslept a little and decided to brave the crowds anyway (big mistake). However, I went up to the fourth floor thinking that there probably wouldn’t be many people up there. Boy, was I right. There is nothing up there except for Hooters and the movie theater. When did that happen? And do they have any plans to put anything up there again? The last time I remember going up there was in college to go bar hopping because you could get stamped at one bar and then go to any of the bars, and I remember that being fairly awesome. It was very bizarre to see so much empty space in a place filled with so many people.
There are other indoor places that I plan on trying out for walking, like the Excel, the Minneapolis skyways, and the tunnels at the U. Hopefully springlike temperatures will come back soon, though, because I miss walking down to the river along Summit.

Yeah, most of those places closed last year or before. I was sad to see some of them go, but now they may be putting in some really cool, state of the art night clubs. Things you can’t find anywhere else. Like a club thzat is designed with dancing in mind. Huge light display, thumpin’ music, and no pesky tables to get in the way.
