MOBster Meeting

Via Dave’s Picks I see that there’s a meeting of the Minnesota Organization of Blog(ger?)s tomorrow (Saturday) at 5:00 p.m. at Keegan’s Irish Pub in Northeast.

I’ve never heard of this MOB before. Not that I should be privy to all things blog-related in town. But I like to think I’m in the know, you know. Although looking at the list of folks in the MOB, a lot of them are political blogs and I try to stay as far away from those as possible. So maybe I’m not really missing anything.

They say they’ve got 70 RSVPs. Anyone planning on going? Or is anyone brave enough to infiltrate and report back?

Yeah, there’s a lot of political (conservative) sorts there. But it’s close to where I live, and there are other bars in the area if it turns out to be a bust.

Nobody has to “infiltrate”; everyone’s invited, no cloak ‘n dagger needed.

The MOB is not political. It happens that a lot of the blogs ARE political, and many of them are right-of-center (because most of the biggest blogs in town *are*, hey?), but we have people all over the political spectrum - and outside it as well. It doesn’t matter, because we *never* discuss politics at these things; it’s almost (but not quite) bad form.

Stop by, say hi. Nobody bites. (Well, some of the blogs do, but this evening everyone’s cool…)
