Canada’s Worst Driver

I was sent this link today to an article about the reality show “Canada’s Worst Driver” - where terrible drivers face their inadequacies and graduate to a new life of safer driving.

Firstly, it’s heartening to see a reality show (even if it’s Canadian) that isn’t based on grossness or cruelty. Secondly, I would love to see a show like this here in the Twin Cities. Our crazy drivers would make great entertainment.

It was a wonderful series (1 episode left - a look at international versions). Shown here in Canada on the Discovery Channel, CWD brought my entire family hours of helpless laughter. At the same time, I have a 15-year-old who wants to learn to drive next year. She didn’t laugh quite so much as the rest of us - she was too busy taking notes.

It wasn’t like Survivor or The Apprentice: probably wouldn’t survive on US TV. It wasn’t gross, cruel or crammed with gratitutous sex or violence. It was informative, funny and a little scary at times. I can only hope it’s either rerun or released on DVD.
