“Enough is Enough” Blimp Over Downtown

OK. This morning I noticed this blimp circling downtown Minneapolis with “Enough is Enough” on the side. I have an office on the 28th floor of one of the buildings downtown, so it’s actually pretty close and not easy to miss. I seem to recall someone mentioning a blimp and downtown a few days ago, but I wasn’t paying attention then. Anyone know what we’ve had “enough” of?

It’s been buzzing my building in downtown St. Paul all last week.

The other side says something like, “I’ve had it up to here.” No logo or brand on it. I’m sure we’re all supposed to be on the edge of our seats with this one. (I just wanted to see it crash)

Funny you mention it - my boyfriend and I saw a blimp near Apple Valley this weekend - pretty bizarre as I never see blimps floating over Apple Valley. Couldn’t tell what it said since it was a decent distance away. (geez, this comment is sounding more and more useless!)

Gah! I hate it that we’re falling prey to a PR stunt - Photo here: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/com/102214906.html

Yeah, I kinda feel an urgent need to know. It has been all the buzz amongst people I work with. Seems everyone has seen this thing. Whoever came up with the idea is gonna get a pat on the back when all is said and done, that’s for sure.

    There’s a not-very-informative article here: http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/5661413.html

Well, it is informative if you like trivia like: “This blimp was flown here from Washington D.C., at a maximum speed of 53 mph.” But it still doesn’t answer what the heck it’s all about.

And for the record, a gaggle of us saw it Saturday night near the Metrodome. We just dismissed it as being aimed at some sports event none of us were aware of.

I the blimp on Saturday in the vicinity of the Dome. My friends and I just figured it was aimed at some sports event we weren’t hip to. There’s a not-too-informative article here: http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/5661413.html

Well, it actually is kind of informative, if you like trivia like, “This blimp was flown here from Washington D.C., at a maximum speed of 53 mph.” But it doesn’t really give us a clue as to what it’s about. It’s going to be a pretty crummy PR stunt without a big reveal sometime soon. Maybe the message will change once we’ve all noticed it.

Still looks like nobody knows: [LJ thread] [MNspeak thread]. But the guessing sure is fun.

I just found out what it is for…

It’s a PR stunt for Fox 9 news. If you watch tonight (Thursday) at nine, they will reveal what the meaning behind it is.
