Rain much?
Everybody enjoying the plethora of rains we’ve been getting all night? I’m certainly not. I walked out to my car after work tonight to find it sitting in a foot of water! Luckily, I got it started and out of the water, but then I had to bail out the water from the inside of my car! I made it home safely, but now what? Do I just wait for my car to dry out? And how is it going to dry out if it never stops raining? Should I take it in to a mechanic to check it out? (The air bag light was on. I assume that’s because the sensor got wet or something.) Will it even start tomorrow? Gahhhh!
And speaking of mechanics, I need to find a good one anyway. Anyone have any good mechanic recs for someone living in the Hamline/Macalester area of St. Paul? Much obliged.

Glad your car started!
80th St. in Bloomington was completely flooded with three cars stalled out as of 8 p.m. tonight when I was at Joe Sensors. As of 10 p.m. when we left, the police had the entire street closed!
Wow. I count myself lucky then, I guess. I’m a lot less freaked out now than when it was happening.
I heard through the grapevine (my dad) that 35W and 35E were both trouble spots in the southern metro. I know from experience that 35W floods underneath the Diamond Lake Road bridge. You made it home okay, I hope!
I really need to remember to close my bedroom windows when I go to work. But I’m loathe to give up on the fresh air before it gets all frigid (and we hermetically seal our apartment for the winter).
We go to “Millers” in the highland park area. I think it’s on Griggs if I remember correctly. It’s been awhile since we’ve had to bring our car in.
A bunch of roads down in south Bloomington flooded out as well. Supposedly AAA had a 2+ hour backlog for towing.
