Big Bikes for Jesus

I heard this story on MPR and had to share it because I’ve seen them in Minneapolis and wondered what was going on:
Riding tall bikes for Christ

If you’ve ever seen a member of the Minneapolis Scallywags Bike Club pedaling down the street, you’ll probably never forget the image. They ride tall bikes — made from bicycle frames stacked and welded together. The Scallywags ride to bring attention to their faith in Christ….

funny. This is almost the antithesis of the rest of the freakbike clubs in the TC (and elsewhere, for that matter). The Black Label kids are all about debauchery and living on the edge. You might remember hearing about the girl - a member of the Black Label bike club - who fell to her death last year from an overpass in Minneapolis while riding a tall bike.

I’m not trying to marginalize any of this…the story posted here, the inherent dangers of riding a bike 20 feet tall, etc. I just found it a little strage when I originally heard this story that the angle made it seem like what they were doing was in some way new.
