out of town
I’m traveling abroad for the next couple of weeks, hitting some of the major cities of Central Europe, but I’ll be trying to post when I can, mostly comparisons of where I’m at with back home in the TC. The only city I’ll be in with a Metroblog is Vienna, surprisingly. I really thought Munich would have one by now, or maybe Prague. I should’ve brought some stickers or cards with me. Ah well.
The overall route is Munich, Geneva, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague and back to Munich. I’m in Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, right now, but my layover isn’t long enough to let me go into the city.
So airport to airport, Schiphol seems…..shinier than MSP. More efficient certainly. Quieter. I think the airport itself is larger, and the lounges seem more comfy with nice padded couches. I’m at a Communications Centre right now. Maybe I just don’t care for the TC Airport that much, but this just seems so much nicer. Very clean. Not that MSP is filthy; that is reserved for Orlando and LAX. But we just seem so less modern than some other airports, particularly European ones. Although the only Euro airports I have to go by are Copenhagen, Madrid, Charles de Gaulle in Paris and now Schiphol in Amsterdam.
Off to my gate, arrivederci!

How about meeting up with some Metroblog Vienna regulars? :)
I remember Schiphol being very quiet, clean and modern, I also remember it being very sparsely populated, I wondered where all the travellers were….
Meeting up with some Vienna metrobloggers is a good idea. I’m not exactly sure when we’re getting there, but I’ll try to post a day ahead of time, and maybe someone can recommend a good place to go and meet up with some bloggers.
Ugh, I’ll take MSP over Paris’ CDG any day. That place is horrid. Schipol is nice though, at least when it’s not 95% under construction (so one week a year).
Schiphol is a great airport - a real expirience, not just a transfer hub. As soon as you hit Vienna, mail me, and I’ll set you up with some Metblogger meetage ;)
