Dining for Hurricane Aid

Today (Tuesday) was the day to participate in Restaurants for Relief. In fact, you may have done so without even knowing it. Proceeds from your dinner went to help Hurricane Katrina victims. I’d give details but, you know, it’s already over.

In case you missed it, on Wednesday October 5 (that’s next Wednesday), you can partake in Dine for America in which proceeds go to benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. You can find a list of participating restaurants at DfA’s website. I saw a sign up at the Noodles & Co. in Calhoun Commons, but I know there are plenty more places. If you were going to be eating out anyway, it’s an easy enough way to make a donation.

The more I hear about the (mis)management of donations by the American Red Cross, the most ambivalent I become about donating to them early on in the Katrina relief effort.
