Video game crazy…
I have nothing to talk about in our city right now. I have been stuck inside playing my brand new video game, We love Katamari. It is the sequel to the mega-hit Katamari Damacy. It is a weird game and VERY Japanese in theme. I had a pretty hard time finding it in a lot of the major stores around my workplace in Roseville. It was very fun going up to people and having this conversation;
Me: “Um…do you have We Love Katamari in stock?”
“Brilliant” sales Associate: “What is that?”
Me: “A really cool new game that came out today for the PS2.”
“Brilliant” Sales Associate: “I’ve never heard of it.”
Me: “Don’t you work in the video games department?”
“Brilliant” Sales Associate: “Sort of, we don’t really have a set place we work. We just put stuff on shelves and ring people up.”
Wow…now I didn’t get the words exactly correct. You see, I can’t speak as stupidly as they did. But I am having fun with the game. I already beat it, actually. It was totally worth it. I’ll spend many more hours trying to master it…

Wow. That is just…stunning. I am stunned. How can you have any thing to do with video games, even if it is just peripherally, and *not* know about Katamari Damacy and its sequel? People never cease to amaze me, and not always the good kind of amazing. In happier news, we love Katamari in our household as well (ha ha) but my boys have been mighty fixated on our Gamecube as of late, and the PS2 has, sadly, been gathering dust. I’ll have to remind them that we’ve been remiss and the sequel is already out (we knew it was coming).
