BROKE ASS

I was driving down Franklin one day and I saw a guy getting out of a blue Jetta with http://www.broke-ass.com lettered on the bumper.

Upon returning home and plugging that into my browser, I was not anticipating finding a “hip-hop/rock fusion” DJ’s website. Cheap Cologne of Broke-Ass Records, who operates Dirt Poor Studios.

Not really my type of music, but he’s got songs like “Crosstown (Remix)” and “Lexington Avenue Express” so you gotta love a local boy. (Or maybe not. I’m originally from Detroit and not so much a Kid Rock fan.)

The website has a snazzy flash player so you can listen to a bunch of tracks, and Cheap Cologne has a few gigs, benefits, and CD release parties coming up in the next few months if you’re interested in checking him out.
