And, a retractable roof.

OMG, I’m so sick of hearing about these gotdamn stadiums. I’m totally not surprised this Anoka county deal is going through.

I am ultra-pissed that these jerks think that the state should foot a third of the bill. The state repeatedly voted the measure down.

Why do we keep giving new stadiums to a team that DOESN’T WIN? Winning is what draws people, not stadiums.

Amen. But a small part of me figures if it’s going to be forced on us, I’d rather everyone in the state bear the burden than just the residents of that county.

How much is the team salary cap every year? Isn’t that, like, a fifth of what the stadium will cost right there? Do we not support the team enough by paying such outrageous prices to go watch them play and eat in the stadium and buy all their gear? (Well, not me. But, you know, people.) Make the owner pony up, take a corporate sponsorship, and get it over with.

I’m not really dying to give the Twins a new stadium either, but I hope somebody stays downtown so folks will still have a(nother) reason to ride the LRT.
