St. Paul Fire,
originally uploaded by Lexinatrix.
Last night when I was driving home from work, I noticed this plume of black smoke billowing up from parts easterly.
I believe what I saw was the result of a brewery fire in St. Paul. The historic brewery location has been abandoned for some time, and the City of St. Paul apparently had plans to tear it down for development. Vandals had been stealing copper and other salvagable materials from the building recently, as well.
I didn’t think that people still did stuff like that… stealing copper pipes for the salvage price. In an age of high tech crime, it seems like such an old-fashioned technique.
