I enjoyed the last day of the Minnesota State Fair today. I went after my brief tour of duty at work this morning. I honestly was expecting crazy-riot-people-ville. Instead, I was treated to a nice relaxing afternoon/evening at the Great Minnesota Get-together. I did all of my traditional things; rode Ye Old Mill (still stupid and weird), ate food (gonna pay for it tomorrow), learned about new technology (to make me feel smarter), and weighed myself in the education building (still weigh more than I think I do). I also saw something i haven’t had a chance to visit before. Way in the back of the Heritage Square there is a newspaper museum. It was pretty neat. They had an exhibit about ’50s newsapaper photos that was kind of disturbing, but interesting.

I also rode a few rides. I usually try and ride the “new” ride every year, but this year I just didn’t feel like spending all that much money on the rides. I guess it must be an age thing. I remember going to the fair as a kid and hating everything but the rides and the Ye Old Mill. Of course my parents encouraged me by taking me on a ton of them. imes are different now, I guess.

I was also this close to getting a hot tub package for my house. We might still do it. It would be nice to have a hot tub this year. It is suposed to be really cold and snowy…perfect for the hot tub…
