So many festivals, so little time…
Gosh, what is a people lovin’ guy supposed to do? Both the Ren Fest and the State Fair are going on this weekend. Two places to see many a crazy person make a fool of themselves. It would make me sad for the human race if it didn’t entertain me sooo much. Out at Ren Fest you see loads of people getting absolutely plastered and then trying to outwit the witty people hired to work there. Loads of good times there. At the Fair, you have many decidedly “Minnesotans” walking around with a fascination with sticks. At both places you see a range of emotions from giddy pleasure to fear and loathing. As an actor, it is fascinating to me. I love to people watch, I get some really fun character ideas from doing it. These two festivals are way up on the top of my list of weird character watching. There is Mr. Mullet and family each with matching corn dogs at the Fair. There is Mr. and Mrs. Nerdly and future nerd son all dressed up and playing fantasy at Ren Fest. Please don’t get me wrong, I actually like to dress up, too, when attending the Ren Fest. It DOES add something to the whole surreal experience. It just kind of weirds me out how into it a WHOLE FAMILY can get.
Next month comes all the crappy fright houses to attend. God, I love the fall…

I did the State Fair on Wednesday. My first time going just to go (I went once before, for a work thing). And it was… uh… interesting. The people-watching is definitely the best part.
