Possible City Pages Change in Ownership

There’s a possibility that two alternative weekly paper chains could be merging soon. One, Village Voice Media, owns the City Pages and four or five other papers. The other, New Times Media, owns something like 18 papers.

I don’t quite grok why this would be way worse than the City Pages already being owned by an alternative weekly paper chain, but the folks at City Pages seem to think it’s a Very Bad Thing.

I kinda over City Pages anyway. I really only read it for Savage Love anymore. The theater and movie reviews are always so biased and uninformed. The articles are sometimes ok. I guess I just want them to write about something without the bitchy, sarcastic edge.
