Not afraid…
I’m gonna have to say I hate the Uptown Art Fair with a passion. I live in Uptown and have to drive a car sometimes. When the Art Fair descends down upon us, I can’t get anywhere very quickly. I am in the Fringe and my venue is on 26th and Hennipen. Yeah…just try and park there. Besides, the art fair is just a bunch of really expensive (albeit very cool sometimes) art that I can never afford. Oh, and cheese curds. Nothing says sophistication and style like a frickin’ cheese curd stand. Thank god it’s only three days…

I rollerbladed by today and you could smell the cheese curds (and the mini-donuts) from about a half mile away.
But I do still kind of want to see it. I was trying to figure out a way to get into Uptown from my house without a bike, and without having to drive. I suppose I could take the bus. Or I might rollerblade and bring shoes with me.
Although there are Fringe shows I want to see tomorrow, so I maybe I’ll be busy doing that instead.
I went to the Uptown Art Fair for the first and likely only time last year. My fiance’s favorite part was the Kobe beef burger he had (I had a bite; amazing). My favorite part were the sculptures and pictures that consisted entirely of beads. Otherwise, most of it looked straight out of the 80’s. Really, has nothing changed in the art world since my mom was dragging me to art fairs when I was little?
Ah, the art fair. Neither art, nor fair.
