remiss in my reviews

I’ve been going out a lot lately, out to eat, out to play, but have I been recording my thoughts about these places for posterity? Sadly, no. I’m going to attempt to turn over a new leaf and get more of my ideas down on “paper” while they’re fresh. Meanwhile, into the Wayback Machine, Sherman! A couple of weeks ago, I went to Trikkx in Saint Paul, the other half of the TC, and had a great time. I wrote about how it’s a fun little bar, very little attitude and nice drinks. Those nice drinks may end up winning me a shopping spree at the Mall of America. Right about the time that the light rail opens up all the way from downtown Minneapolis to the MoA. Sounds like fate to me. Anyway, by buying some Stoli cocktails, I got entered into a weekly drawing for the shopping spree, and won that. That got me entered into the big drawing on the 22nd of this month at the 19 Bar. I just started going to the 19 Bar last year, and it’s this great little dive bar just outside of downtown Minneapolis. They even have a patio which I just discovered this summer. Cheap drinks, darts, pool, and a jukebox. They received a full liquor license a year or so ago, and before that they only served 3.2 beer. Since the new liquor license the clientele has been changing to a more mixed age crowd, which is kind of nice. Some of the older regulars probably have a bitched about it, but it’s definitely a place I enjoy going to now. Check it out sometime, right off of Nicollet on 15th St.
